Having wasted a couple of sentences whining about life’s injustice as manifested in the NCAA, this writer has trashed his original lead and shaken off the horrible news of Fab Melo’s suspension from this year’s Division I basketball tournament. You’re reading it here, if not first, at least most certainly.   Syracuse will win the national championship.  Jim Boeheim will coach the six best games of his distinguished career and every one of his kids will play the best three weeks of basketball they have ever played.  Christmas will arrive early for the Orange.

dr dave, appreciate your skepticism, but insist that cuse shall overcome. did you see sweet 16 battle with wisconsin thursday evening? best college basketball game of the season – even exceeding the pleasures of columbia’s ot loss to harvard! wisconsin could not miss the trey and that was despite a very active cuse 2-3 zone. thank goodness for orangemen’s depth and one on one virtuousity. especial kudos to c.j. fair, dion waiters and the two headed center subbing for the ineligible fab melo – rakeem christmas and baye okeita. syracuse is steadily improving during the tourney and has more game ready bodies to weather the various storms. looking forward to them taking down whatever other giants are in the way of title 2 for jimmy b.
